CARE OF METAL ITEMS
IMPORTED METAL WALL ART
Many of our designs have been handmade and painted to create a piece of artwork. Some items are constructed with metal (mild steel). Rusting of metal is a normal process and the time taken for natural rust to form on the item will depend on the position, proximity to water & sun, & how the item is treated. These are intended for Indoor use, protected outdoor spaces in the garden such as covered entertaining areas such as patios, covered garden walls, verandahs etc. We recommend protecting your item with a UV protective clear lacquer to minimise rusting and colour fading. We personally coat our metal wall art twice yearly with White Knights Squirts Clear Gloss Lacquer. See your local Hardware or Paint store for more detailed info.
RECYCLED OIL DRUMS
Derived 100% from 44 Gallon drums it gives a fresh look to recycling. As these are handmade no two will be the same. These are finished with a commercial grade application of clear gloss lacquer but ongoing maintanence recommendation is a regular coat of Penetrol to keep looking great for longer.
RECYCLED METAL
Each piece is individually handcrafted from recycled and sustainable materials. Colors and shades may vary from the images displayed online. You can therefore be confident that you are investing in an eco-friendly and unique work of art. Sprayed with commercial grade of clear gloss lacquer you will need ongoing maintenance with Penetrol to minimise colour fading & rust.
CUSTOM MADE STEEL
WEATHERED RUST MILD STEEL
Although designs with a natural rusted finish have been treated with an application of Penetrol, the rust is a natural process which may continue to develop over time to create it's own unique patina. Long term exposure to the elements and environment will cause changes and a continuation of the rusting process. If this is not desired, we recommend a small degree of maintenance. This involves a 6 monthly spray of Penetrol which can be purchased from any hardware store. We encourage you to re-consider when putting a natural rusted design in a situation such as, and not limited to, white/ light coloured walls or onto limestone/ sandstone pavers etc. Should you be after a maintenance-free option, we recommend a powder coat finish. It is possible to have a powder coat that appears as a Rust, has slight colour variation & is slightly textural. See powder coat options below.
RUST STEEL (CORTEN)
Popular for use on laser cut wall screens and garden sculptures. Corten finish looks like rust, but is actually a protective coating. Corten develops with age, is corrosion resistant and is very long lasting.
ALUMINIUM POWDER COAT
Corrosion resistant and light weight. Aluminium can be Powder Coated in a range of colours, anodised or left in a raw state. If left in the raw, it will dull with age. The dull surface becomes a protective layer to help prevent further corrosion. If Powder Coating, there are a number of precautions that must be included in the design and manufacturer process.
STAINLESS STEEL
There are two grades to choose from #316 marine grade or #304. If your laser cut screens or metal works are to be positioned outside, we suggest #316. Interior screens, or metal works can be made with #304, which is substantially cheaper.
WOOD & TIMBER
Wood and timber are natural organic materials hat comprise the structural tissue of trees. There are two forms of wood products, natural and engineered. We sell both in our product range and the natural subtleties are to be expected, embraced and are not to be considered flaws in the design.
COLOUR
Every effort is made to ensure that the colour is consistent between each piece, however it is expected to have slight colour variances from piece to piece due to handmade items. We ensure high quality and try to meet high expectations. Computer monitors have different colour gradients and might look different to the actual product and will differ from monitor to monitor.

We disclaim all responsibility of damages that may have been as a result of natural development any of our products are handmade using natural organic materials, which means every piece has it's own unique characteristics. These natural subtleties are to be expected, embraced and are not to be considered flaws in the design.
